This study explores the powerful role lighting plays in shaping mood, emotion, and narrative tone within games and cinematics. I approached this deep dive with the goal of elevating emotional storytelling - demonstrating how strategic use of light can amplify tension, evoke serenity, or energize action. From subtle rim lights to bold directional contrast, each lighting choice becomes a storytelling tool. This work advocates for a more intentional, emotion-first approach to lighting in game and cinematic design.
